LASER AND LIGHTS
Lasers and light technologies available at The Medical City Wellness Center include SCITON laser (Microlaser peel, Profractional laser, Skin Tyte, BBL or Broad band laser) for Skin resurfacing, Skin rejuvination, and Skin tightening; MINI GENTLELASE laser for Permanent hair reduction, Benign pigmented lesions, Wrinkles, Vascular lesions; and PULSE DYE LASER (PDL) for Vascular lesions, Hypertrophic scars and Stretch marks, and Psoriasis.
Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing can be used to treat deeper scars, pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles. To achieve best results, multiple (monthly) treatments are required.
Laser Hair Removal is a procedure that targets unwanted hairs on the face, armpits, body, bikini, arms and legs. The procedure can be done with or without anesthetic cream. To achieve permanent hair ‘reduction’, 6-8 treatments once a month may be required.
As we age, our skin loses its elasticity, with damage to fibroblasts and loss of collagen.
Photo Rejuvenation
Photoaging are changes in the skin caused by chronic sun exposure (UVA/UVB). These are in the form of darks spots, skin wrinkling, lax skin, and facial spider veins. Several lasers and lights are used to treat photoaging:
Broadband Light (BBL) -- used to cause lightening of dark spots and skin tightening.
Pulse Dye Laser (PDL) – used to treat vascular lesions such as facial spider veins.
Skin Tightening using BBL (SkinTyte) and Radio Frequency (RF) increases elasticity and collagen formation. These treatments can be combined with other non-surgical procedures such as Botox (mini-facelift) and Fillers and other surgical procedures such as Surgical facelift.
Spider Vein Removal
Telangiectasias or spider veins are tiny superficial blood vessels on the face and lower extremities, which can be removed using a laser treatment. Nd:Yag is a type of laser that targets these small superficial veins and destroys them by targeting hemoglobin in the blood.
Laser skin resurfacing using Fractional laser works by causing multiple laser beams that ablate (erode) the skin with alternating normal skin to minimize downtime and promote faster wound healing compared to older forms of dermabrasion. Local and topical anesthesias are used to minimize pain and discomfort during the procedure.
